Starting on a new piece of Garb. Will be sold to someone with less "historically Accurate" attention to fabric. It will be a nice and simple Italian Renaissance style dress in Red Wedding Satin. To bad that I have to get rid of this fabric since its a gorgous color (keeping the dark gold though!-maybe a lining for a cloak's hood) but I'm striving for my fabrics to be historically accurate and satin didn't exist.
My personal project (#1) is my own green dress. I have my underskirt completed with a beautiful Golden Brocade Center (for a split overskirt). I fell in LOVE with the green fabric so while it's a polyester (again not accurate) its easier to pass off than the satin. I'm designing the bodice for that dress myself so we will see. So far its a little big (better than small!) but I havn't done the details. Its designed from a dress worn by one of Queen Mary's (of Scotland) portraits. I may have to go back and get more material for sleeves though as I want the longer draped sleeves.
I will also ad images of the Arabian Horse Collar (project #2) I am making for my mother (for Mother's Day). Thats the project in the front right now.
