My association with SCA began in 2008 when I attended the Medieval Fair at the University of Oklahoma. Since then, I've been attending Northkeep's (Ansteorra's northeastern barony) populace meetings and fighter practices; fairly regularly in the most recent weeks. I have developed a persona, Franziska von Locknitz, and created my first garb. In my mundane life, I am writing about the second crusade and the beginnings of the Holy Roman Empire under Frederick Barbarossa, thus my persona fits into this time frame. I'm still trying to learn about SCA. I am impressed with the depth of involvement and commitment by the members I have had the honor to meet and talk with.
