Description:
I've been in the SCA for close to two years now although I just received my membership about a month ago. My persona is a 13th-14th century Gaelic woman. However, I do not limit myself to just that style of garb. I love trying out new garb just as much as the next person. To me that's the "Creative" part of the Society for Creative Anachronism. I am also interested in Middle Eastern Dance.
Update time!
Ok so by now I've been playing in the SCA for almost 4 years now. Our local group has received the status of the Incipient College of the Blue Flats, and I could not be happier for us!! And for those keeping up.... we're Gleann Abhann's first College.
I still love to dabble with garb from all time periods that the SCA encompasses. I haven't yet found a period that I can call "my period." I have also dabbled somewhat in calligraphy, illumination, metal casting (using solder, not pewter... solder is much cheaper :) ), embroidery, lucet cord making, and tablet weaving just to name a few. And I still love to shimmy-shimmy-shimmy whenever I get a chance.
Hmm.. I guess I should mention that I was awarded my AoA at Gulf Wars this past March (2007). Such sneaky friends I have!
