On Elftown, we are gathering information about fantasy and sci-fi-related conventions:
http://elftown.lysator.liu.se/_conventions

Many of these are of course medieval related and might interest the Thunderers. Message me if you want to add some public events there! I'm still thinking about exactly what to include.

I guess Thunder's Keep should have a similar list for the SCA events we have in the Calendar. [Valgardr]? <img:stuff/sly.jpg>

i believe that in essence, that list would be so large, it would be hard to keep up.. unless people kept their own info up.. so far i'm not seeing alot of people adding to the site, 'cept for you and me.. it just hasn't taken off the way i hoped it would..as far as adding and sharing information..

The only way to make people add things, it to add things and leave their stuff out... The list on Elftown grew pretty big, at least. I guess most events are left out, we have the ones which interest Elftowners now, which is the important thing.

Are there really so many events that are big enough to be listed here?

Anyhow: It's good to have the events on the Courtyard in a list in the wiki too, because then you can easily move annual events to next year.

mostly, i'm looking at the fact that there are 19 kingdoms, and probably at least 50 or so groups within each kingdom, and for me to add all the events of each group within each kingdom, would be a colossal undertaking on my part, considering i'd have to research each kingdom, and find all of their scheduled events for that quarter, every quarter (three months) and continuously update them by myself.. I barely have enough time to donate my services to my own kingdom (painting and creating period scrolls, etc) and I was hoping the webmasters of each kingdom/group would find interest here and start advertising their own kingdom and group stuff here..

Well, but what about some event from every kingdom?

www.westkingdom.org/calendar/ for example, has a pretty nice list and we can guess that AnTir/West War and Great Western War are two important events there as they are made by other kingdoms.

I think the most important thing is to have the absolutely most important information sorted out, not to have all the information. If someone wants to know what a particular kingdom does this month, they should check their home-page instead.

So... I made Calendar 2007. Can you who read this forum take a quick look and see if you can add stuff there and then I can put links from the Courtyard.

and in the case of posting the events why not just post the kingdom calendar sites for each of the kingdoms as a link?

The idea is to have a list with the most important events so that you can get an overview of what happens in other kingdoms that you otherwise wouldn't look at.

It's also nice to hear that someone from Thunder's Keep is going to an event before you go, so commenting on an event wiki-page that one is going is a nice thing to do. <img:stuff/joustmedieval.png>
