The High Guild of Bards@wiki
Greetings!
The High Guild of Bards is a collection of the best Bards in the SCA in our opinion, who must be asked and be recommended by their local Baron or Royals, pass our Guild Test, and agree to conform to the Rules of the Guild, to be members here. The Guildmaster is Baron Alt Andreas von Sohren, a 36 year member of the SCA, a Bard all of that time, as well as practicing other skills worthy of a member of the Gentry of the European Middle Ages.
Those wishing to join this Guild must be Performance Bards, i.e. those who entertain the Populace of the SCA regularly --at SCA events such as tourney's, wars, and/or feasts/revels, and who have verifiable references which must be provided to the Guildmaster, via email to BaronAltAndrea
s@yahoo.com and which will be checked with at least your local Barony Nobility, before admittance is granted.
The High Guild is not only performance minded, but also comedy minded. We are entertainers who bring smiles to the Royals, Nobles, Honorables, Lord and Ladies of the SCA and thus dirges, laments and dark "evil" chants are not welcome here, and should seek other venues. We encompass period music and songs, filk period subject songs (800AD-1650AD), humorous orations either In Period types (such as Chaucer, etc.) or filks of such types, and also heartily embrace "There I was" stories which are the true Legends of the SCA.
We do not take kindly to spelling nazi's. Any material posted here is copyright to the original Bard writer/composer/lyricist, and may not be reproduced in any form nor performed without the permission of the owner of the copyright. It is expected that any Bard who joins this Guild will be delighted to share their works and have them performed, sung, orated, etc. by other Bards accross the Knowne Worlde.
We do accept Apprentices, and will ask that you make yourself known to your local Bards.
