Lord Malcolm McPhee

<img:stuff/Malcolmpic1.jpg>

Standing on the platform, talking to a rapier fighter about techniques and form, Lord Malcolm MacPhie could be found at Optimist Park every Sunday that he was in town. He was also to be found at every meeting, and most every function that the Shire of Arenal held. He was a constant in all of our lives, and he will be missed dearly. Words cannot properly convey the feelings that all felt for him, so I will just say:
 "Lord Malcolm,
We will miss you greatly as you travel on where we cannot yet go. Fair winds and following seas, my friend."

But a great loss it is, not just to his family and friends, for he has touched everyone who has met and worked with him, and his passing will leave a great hole in all of us.
He was a good man in the truest sense, and I don't mean that lightly. Not having a father myself, I grew to love the man, as a friend, mentor, confidant, peer and the father I wished I'd had.
Antonio.

Arenal has been our home for almost 3 years now and one of the first to open their hearts to Isaac and myself was Lord Malcolm. He always had a smile on his face and said he was going to be their when our voices and our faces were remembered. Though it saddens me and us all by his loss, I know he will be there as he will be in all of our hearts. He will stand smiling in heaven, praying for us all to pull forward with open arms to accept everyone for who they are and to help them become more than they once were because this was what he did. We all learned to be a little more caring and a little more understanding because of him.
[ULFR] Kappi (David Stevenson)

...To be in this man's presence, you felt as though you were in the company of the truest, most knightly, most generous and chilvalrous man you ever could have met inside or out of the Society. When he saw you, even if he didn't know you, his face would light up and you'd swear he had been waiting to see you all day. He believed in you even before he knew you, and emanated every imaginable aspect of kindness and consideration. He always spoke with deepest respect to all, and carried himself in such a way that you could not help but want to be a part of his life, and his dreams, because if you did not believe in yourself, you always seemed to know that he believed in you unconditionally. If there were ever a man more deserving of the highest honor the Society could bestow, or the highest honor that the world could bestow, Lord Malcolm would be the one they would honor. In the short time I knew him, he left his impression with me to last the rest of my days, and when my children grow and ask why I am the way I am, I will tell them about a man who showed me what a True Knight was supposed to be like...and how much I still miss being able to talk with him.

You will always be in my heart and in my stories, Ron.
