There is nothing wrong with playing in another kingdom. This is a hobby. It is supposed to be fun. If it isn't fun, then a change is definitely needed. Go to whatever event looks like it will be a good time and don't worry about crossing borders.

As for association, I have struggled in that way as well. I have no clear answer, other than this: When someone brings up your household or familial ties, thank them for recalling your association and state your pride at being associated with that group, but tell them that you wish also to be known for your work as an individual. Perhaps they will think about who all makes up a household and realize that the household may have individual talents and they ought look more carefully, instead of lumping everyone together.
