My persona is that of a Scottish lady who has lost her spouse. I live in the 1100's. My SCA name is Catherine Hunter.
To honer my Dad's family who were born and raised in Scotland, I choose as my SCA name - Catherine (for me) Hunter (for my great grandmother's; it was her maiden name). Her family was a Hunter of Hunterston. They held the Lesser Isle of Cumbrie for the King of Scotland for centuries. The isle actually has a viking bural ground and a castle on it. My Great Grandfather was a Blair. So my persona was way to pick something that is truly my heritage and a way to first, remember my SCA name and respond to it and to let my dad who passed away in 2005 know how much he and his family meant to me. He was of my hero. I miss him.
I sew my own clothing and am learning to make my own trim. I knit, crochet and do needlework, I love to cook and enjoy the times we play.
